As part of your duties, your responsibilities will be the following:
• Act as a reference in education and advise the Training Development Officer on the orientations to be taken, for example during course reviews and various projects or as part of strategic thinking;
• Analyze the content of lesson plans and make recommendations;
• Proactively monitor learning in order to remain on the cutting edge of innovations (technology, approach, tools, etc.);
• Elaborate learning strategies;
• Navigate in a variety of concurrent projects with flexibility while positioning yourself between perfectionism and respect of deadlines;
• Participate in the implementation of learning technologies;
• Offer technological solutions within a military/governmental environment;
• Write training content and evaluations; and
• Find creative solutions to exceptional constraints.
The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. The Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School (CFLRS) is responsible for conducting basic training for officers and non-commissioned members of the Regular Force both in garrison and austere field conditions. Its mission is to train and professionally develop the next Canadian Armed Forces generation morally, mentally, physically and intellectually. Every year, more than 5000 people start their military career at CFLRS, while 3000 military members train via Distance Learning. CFLRS employs more than 600 military and civilian employees. Standards Division is responsible for ensuring the quality and control of basic training for Regular Force officers and non-commissioned members.
This process will be used to staff one indeterminate position. Meanwhile, a pool of candidates partially qualified will be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions of varied duration within the Department of National Defense.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education.
EXPERIENCE:
**Recent and ***significant *experience in design, development and evaluation of training
(e.g.: courses, training modules, presentations, work tools, lesson plans and assessment tools).
*Experience in assessing training needs and proposing appropriate learning methods.
*Experience in identifying appropriate learning method as required.
**Recent and ***significant *experience of the Microsoft Office suite software.
* Experience: the experience may contain, but is not limited to; internships, student jobs in a related field as well as university studies projects.
**Recent experience means performance of duties within the last 5 years.
***Significant experience is defined as the degree and diversity of the experience normally acquired by the regular performance of the said duties.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Master of Education, especially in adults teaching.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience designing, developing and implementing formal and informal learning strategies.
Experience in developing and designing mixed learning programs in a variety of formats (e.g., classroom and online).
Experience in providing instructions and guidance to staff and training participants.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of National Defence and/or Canadian Army Forces.
