Education:
A secondary school diploma or combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
a) Experience in liaising with clients and senior officials.
b) Significant* experience in coordinating the logistics** related to the organization of conferences, meetings or other virtual or in-person events.
c) Experience in development of event budgets and reports (such as participant feedback summaries, evaluations, or forecast and actual budget reports).
d) Experience in managing and maintaining various types of documents such as master membership lists, participants and coordinates’ lists, logistical requirements and protocols.
* Significant experience refers to depth and breadth of experience normally acquired through the performance of duties for at least 18 months.
** ‘Logistics’ includes but is not limited to: arranging hospitality and audio-visual equipment, booking venues and room set up, managing participant registration.

a) Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, in particular Excel and Powerpoint.

Diploma in project or conference/event management.
Asset Experience:
a) Experience using various tools and technologies to manage networks and deliver events (e.g. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, surveys, social media and other web 2.0 platforms, virtual meeting software, interactive event tools, etc).
b) Experience with basic coding or programming.
Asset Knowledge:
a) Knowledge of Government of Canada policies and directives related to event, hospitality and travel.
b) Knowledge of project management principles and methods.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness and ability to work overtime on occasion.
