Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
The head of the newly established Remedies Unit will lead a small team whose responsibilities will include negotiating and drafting remedies related materials, conducting analyses of existing remedies, and researching and working with domestic and international partners to develop best practices regarding remedies to competition issues. The goal is to create a centre of excellence on remedies aimed at resolving competitive concerns arising from mergers or anticompetitive behaviour impacting the Canadian economy and consumers.
The intent of this selection process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position in Gatineau, Quebec.
A pool of partially qualified candidates or entirely qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various language requirements, various security requirements and various tenures within the Competition Bureau across Canada.

EDUCATION:
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Master’s degree in Economics; or
A Degree in law from a recognized university and eligibility for membership in the Bar of one of the provinces or territories of Canada or in the Order of Notaries in the Province of Quebec.
EXPERIENCE:
E1:Significant* experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships and networks of contacts, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders.
E2: Significant* experience drafting and negotiating corporate agreements or court orders or settlements in a commercial context.
E3: Significant* experience in providing advice or guidance to senior management or clients, based on interpretation of legislation, regulations, court orders, policies, contracts or agreements.
*Significant experience will be evaluated in regard to the depth and breadth of work demonstrated, normally acquired by performing the duties for a period of at least 3 years.
