Duties

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the successful candidate will provide technical services in quality assurance testing. Some of the key activities include:
- Reviewing and analysing user requirements and seeking clarification
- Preparing test strategy documents
- Estimating test efforts
- Developing test data and test scripts
- Developing and executing test cases
- Documenting defects
- Reporting on test results

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position. This process may also be used to create a pool of partially-qualified and/or qualified candidates to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures (ex. indeterminate, term, casual), various language requirements (bilingual imperative, English Essential) and linguistic profiles (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC), and various security requirements (reliability or secret) at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognised university in computer science or information technology

Degree equivalency

CERTIFICATION:
IT Service Management certification (for example, ITIL Foundation or Intermediate)

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience performing software testing (for example, functional, integration, systems, load, or regression; writing automated tests, building test suites, using testing tools, resolving bugs, continuously learning new tools and frameworks)
- Experience developing user queries to effectively extract data (e.g., SQL programming)
- Experience managing client requirements for IM/IT application design, development, or maintenance (for example, bringing client requirements from discovery to functional software features by translating client requirements into functional, technical, or security requirements, and so on)
- Experience writing MS SQL scripts and queries
- Significant* experience in test management activities and processes (e.g.; Analysing requirements, creating test plans and strategies, preparing and executing test cases, creating and maintaining test data, executing performance testing, executing system integration testing (SIT), documenting defects using MS Team Foundation System Test Manager 2013 or higher)

* Significant experience is defined as experience that is normally acquired over the course of at least five years.
