A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff EN-ENG-04 and PC-03 positions with different tenures (indeterminate, specified period, assignment/secondment, acting appointment and extension of acting appointment), with various linguistic profiles and requirements and security levels (reliability or secret), within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Education:
ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, mining engineering, geological engineering or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
OR
ED2. Graduation with a science degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in biology, physics, geology, chemistry, environmental sciences or some other science discipline relevant to the position.
Experience:
EX1. Significant** experience preparing briefing material for senior management*** and developing advice for clients on environmental issues.
EX2. Experience* developing partnerships with representatives from government, industry or other stakeholders on environmental issues.
EX3. Significant** experience leading a project and working group.
EX4. Significant** experience gathering, analyzing and presenting scientific or technical information from scientific publications, technical reports or primary data sources.
EX5. Significant** experience writing technical reports or other documents on environmental issues.
EX6. Significant** experience in any of the following sectors: electricity, oil and gas, fuel production, transportation, chemicals or products manufacturing; waste management; mining, metals or minerals processing; forestry.
*Experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of the duties in a work environment during a period of one (1) year.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of the duties in a work environment during a period of three (3) years.
***The expression «senior management» is defined as being persons occupying director positions and above.
Asset Qualification - Education:
AED1. Post graduate degree (e.g. masters, doctorate) from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization relevant to the duties of the position.
Asset Qualifications - Experience:
AEX1. Experience* in preparing terms of reference, reviewing proposals, and managing contracts.
AEX2. Experience* coordinating work or tasks, supervising or overseeing staff such as students, contract workers or other staff.
AEX3. Experience* in writing, assessing or reviewing scientific or technical documents related to the impacts on the environment of energy production, oil and gas production and distribution, electricity generation, industrial processes, transportation or infrastructure projects (e.g. environmental assessment studies or environmental impact studies, feasibility studies or related studies).
AEX4. Experience* in assessing the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions or air pollutants from energy production, conservation or consumption by related sectors which include, electricity generation, oil and gas production and distribution, the transportation sector and industrial sectors.
AEX5. Experience* in database development and maintenance
AEX6. Experience* in regulatory development or administration
*Experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of the duties in a work environment during a period of one (1) year.

K1. Knowledge of environmental issues related to i) air pollution and climate change OR ii) chemical management from the energy sector (electricity, oil and gas, fuel production or transportation) or industrial sector (chemicals or products manufacturing; waste management; mining, metals or minerals processing; forestry) in Canada.
K2. Knowledge of processes or technologies related to the prevention and control of releases of i) air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions OR ii) chemical substances into the environment.
K3. Knowledge of federal and provincial/territorial responsibilities in the management of the environment.
