The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is an independent arm's length agency that reports to Parliament through the Queen's Privy Council. The organization aspires to be a modern world-class organization that evolves and adapts as it strives to influence changes that advance transportation safety. The TSB enjoys a strong and credible reputation in Canada and around the world.
The TSB is a small organization with approximately 220 employees and 5 Board Members. The organization operates in a decentralized manner through 10 locations across Canada. Employees work in a collegial and collaborative environment.
The intent of this process is to establish a pool of partially assessed candidates. Similar positions may be staffed through this process with various tenures, language profiles and/or requirements and security requirements.

Education:
-College degree in computer science, information technology, information management or another field related to this position.
At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Degree equivalency
- At least 2 years of experience developing with JavaScript.
- At least 2 years of experience developing web applications in C # with a Microsoft SQL Server back-end.
- At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience:
1. At least 2 years of experience developing with JavaScript.
2. At least 2 years of experience developing web applications in C # with a Microsoft SQL Server back-end.
3. At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server;
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as, but not limited to: Typescript, Angular, jQuery, ReactJS, ECMAScript, etc.;
2. Knowledge of T-SQL scripts such as database queries, stored procedures, function, views, etc.
3. Knowledge of techniques to identify and resolve programming errors, and troubleshoot operational problems;

1. Ability to analyze problems and provide recommendations on best solutions to adopt;

Information on language requirements
Experience
1. Experience using Angular/AngularJS JavaScript framework;
2. Experience with LINQ and .Net Entity Framework;
3. Experience programming with an MVC (Model-View-Controller) approach;
4. Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS);
5. Experience using the jQuery library;
6. Experience developing and maintaining RESTful and/or SOAP web services;
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of user interface design best practices and mobile device optimization using technologies such as Bootstrap, CSS, SASS, LESS, etc.;
2. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint;
3. Knowledge of software package manager (Nuget, NPM)
4. Knowledge of JavaScript based tools such as, but not limited to: Node.js, Angular CLI, Grunt, Webpack, Bower, etc;
