A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (term, indeterminate, deployment, assignment, secondment).

EDUCATION

ED1. Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary program in computer science, information technology, information management or other field related to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EX1. Relevant experience * installing, configuring, maintaining, updating and troubleshooting Windows operating systems (server and client) and the Microsoft Office suite.

EX2. Relevant experience * in the provision of technical support services and user needs analysis
* Relevant experience: 1 year and more.

ASSET EXPERIENCE

AEX1. Experience in installing or setting up or maintaining or updating and fixing problems on the Linux operating system.

AEX2. Experience in software development.

AEX3. Experience in installing and administering virtual environments including VMware.

AEX4. Experience with IT procurement methods in the Government of Canada.

AEX5. Experience in managing a computer fleet of more than 15 users.

AEX6. Experience in the provision of development support and maintenance of experimentation’s IT infrastructure.

K1. Knowledge of configuring and maintaining servers and platforms of type Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) devices.
K2. Knowledge of configuring and maintaining software licences (server and client).
K3. Knowledge in backing up and retrieving users and systems data.

ABILITIES

A1. Ability to analyze situations, effectively solve complex problems and make recommendations.

- Security Levels: Reliability, Secret and Top Secret
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Hold or be able to obtain a driver's license from the Department of National Defense (DND 404)
- Being able to lift heavy objects and be able to work in tight spaces
- Agree to do fieldwork occasionally
- Agree to work overtime occasionally
