Duties

As part of Pedagogical Expertise Cell, you will be called upon to promote of pedagogy and success through providing Royal Military College Saint-Jean’s teaching staff and learners with:
- Expert counselling in pedagogy, educational technologies and special needs education.
- Design, development and evaluation of didactical material.
- Learning and teaching support services.

KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Conduct needs analysis.
- Develop, maintain and review programmes and courses, learning evaluation tools as well as multimedia material.
- Design and develop learning material such as training plans, lesson plans.
- Deliver training to personnel on subjects pertaining to pedagogy and education in general.
- Offer expert advice to the teaching staff on subjects pertaining to programmes, courses and learning evaluation tools.
- Ensure the conformity of didactic material.

EDUCATION:
A master’s degree from a recognized university, with a specialization in education or didactics or instructional design or any other master’s degree combined with a post-graduate diploma (micro-programme, specialized graduate diploma, etc.) in education or didactics or instructional design.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Recent* and significant** experience in the design and development of programs and courses using a systems approach.
Recent* and significant** experience in designing, developing and evaluating multimedia material (online and in class).
Experience in providing advice on educational matters.
Experience in delivering training workshops.

* Recent experience means these tasks were exercised within the past 5 years.
** Significant experience is defined as the degree and diversity of the experience by the regular execution of the said tasks over a period of approximately of 2 years.

Certification permitting administration of psychometric instruments and the facilitation of workshops such as the MBTI, Strong Campbell etc.

Degree equivalency

Experience in developing post-secondary programs and courses.
Experience in teaching adults at a post-secondary level.
Experience in managing educational and instructional development projects.
Experience in rapid development tools.
Experience in the development of mobile learning solutions.
Experience in facilitation.
Experience in coaching and mentoring.

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the theories and principles in education and adult learning (andragogy-pedagogy).
Knowledge of training methodologies and techniques such as using case studies, role-play, structured experiences etc.
Knowledge of current and emerging trends in the field of learning through the use of technology.

ABILITY:
Ability to develop, plan, organize and deliver training to adult learners.
Ability to manage the educational program development process by identifying the actions to follow as well as identifying potential difficulties and solutions.
Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
Ability to use all Windows compatible software.
Ability to use multimedia tools in a learning context.
Ability to develop multimedia training tools.
