Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary school program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.

EXPERIENCES :
STREAM A: Project Manager, Web and Digital Initiatives and Project Manager, Research Aids
EX1 - Experience in planning and delivering a variety of projects;
EX2 - Experience in conducting research and producing related documents;
EX3 - Experience in the delivery of services to clients related to access to documentary heritage*.

STREAM B: Project Manager, Exhibitions
EX4 - Experience in exhibitions project management from conception to final fit up**, including related conservation and preparation of material;
EX5 - Experience in the management of an active exhibition loans program for a cultural institution.

* Documentary heritage is defined as: publications and records of interest to Canada, which can include monographs, journals, historical records, images, maps and other types of material.
** Fit up means: management and coordination of conception, design, installation and the fabrication of text panels, banners, captions.

KNOWLEDGE :
STREAMS A & B
K1 - Knowledge of project management theories and methods;
K2 - Knowledge of the mandate, priorities and services of Library and Archives Canada.

STREAM A: Project Manager, Web and Digital Initiatives
K3 - Knowledge of current and emerging social media and online tools (i.e. social networking, blogging, podcasts) to make LAC documentary heritage known.

STREAM B: Project Manager, Exhibitions
K4 - Knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of collections management, including conservation, loans and exhibitions management.

Experience in managing digitization project or online digital initiatives or creation of online content.

STREAM B: Project Manager, Exhibitions
Experience in negotiating exhibition loans at the national level;
Experience in managing projects involving multi-institutional stakeholders;
Experience in supervising employees.
