In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Recent and significant* experience providing facility maintenance services in an institutional setting (example: prison, hospital, school, etc).

Experience contributing to maintenance budgets and plans

Experience providing advice and guidance to management to facilitate planning, managing and leading facilities management projects.

*Recent and significant is defined as 2 years in the last 5 years

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations which impact on facilities maintenance, safety and security activities.
Knowledge of project management in the Government of Canada (https://www.canada.ca/en/treasury-board-secretariat/services/information-technology-project-management/project-management.html).

Ability to analyze and develop recommendations to resolve issues
Ability to implement and monitor site maintenance programs
Ability to manage prevention & scheduled maintenance plans

Graduation with a college diploma in engineering technology of another discipline related to the position.
Graduation with a degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering
Applicable Provincial certification required to perform the duties of the position
A certificate of qualification in a trade associated with facilities maintenance.

Degree equivalency

Experience developing and implementing preventative maintenance program
Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System
Experience developing requests for project proposals
Experience providing fleet management support services
Experience interpreting architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings, work orders, specifications and manufacturers data.

Willingness and ability to travel to various locations

Conditions of employment

Reliability security clearance

Agreement to undergo and acquire any specific training or certification deemed a bona fide requirement for the position.

Must be able to work and lift tools and equipment at the maximum level prescribed under provincial health and safety regulations.

Must be able to respond to urgencies as required based on environments operating in a 24/7 facility.

Must have a valid driver license

Willingness to work overtime
