THE POSITION AVAILABLE IS IN THE AREA OF LAN ADMINISTRATION AND ASSET AND LICENSE MANAGEMENT.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) term position until March 2020, with a possible extension.

A pool of fully qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions within Elections Canada with various tenures (indeterminate, specified periods) and with various linguistic profiles, such as English or French, Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC.

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

NOTE: Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:

- Recent* and significant** experience in the planning and delivery of Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure services.

- Significant** experience in the supervision or team leadership of a varied group of professional and technical IT staff.

- Significant** experience facilitating communications with stakeholders in support of IM/IT products or services. Stakeholders could include other teams in same directorate or business clients with an organization or other agencies.

- Recent* experience working with the ITSM framework.

*Recent is defined as an experience having been acquired within the last five (5) years

**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.

ASSET/ PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:

Possession of one or more relevant professional certification that applies to this position such as: Microsoft suite of certifications or ITIL.

ASSET/ EXPERIENCES:

- Recent* experience in providing technical advice and guidance to management, colleagues and clients and acts as a subject matter resource.

- Recent* experience in asset and license management.

- Recent* experience contributing to the development of IM/IT operational plans or operational standards and guidelines in support of business priorities.

ASSET/KNOWLEDGE:

- Knowledge of packaging and software distribution.

- Knowledge of IT asset inventory management principles and practices.
