EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice, or related field; OR
• Eligibility for a Land Surveyor Commission in Canada.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience successfully managing projects and reporting on related activities in hydrography or related fields.
• Experience successfully fostering innovation in the workplace.
• Experience managing human and financial resources.
• Experience providing advice to middle and senior management (Manager level and above) on a wide range of issues such as general project and program delivery, and human resources.
• Experience working with external stakeholders in the context of project and program delivery.

• Knowledge of methodologies for development, assessment and implementation of hydrographic processes.

ABILITIES:
• Ability to communicate orally.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience briefing middle and senior management (Manager level and above).
• Experience in one or more of the fields of marine sciences, particularly hydrography: data acquisition, data transformation, multi-disciplinary data assimilation, hydrographic research or technical support for hydrographic systems.
• Experience in the preparation and submission of proposals that contain financial information such as project approval documents, memoranda of understanding or joint project agreements.
• Experience developing policies and strategies for the advancement of a geospatial information program.
• Experience operating within an ISO quality management system.
• Experience of at least 4 consecutive weeks working in more than one region including National Capital Region.
• Secret security clearance.
• Requirement to work overtime on occasions.
• Requirement for domestic and international travel.
