A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions within the Department of National Defence with various tenures in various locations, with various security clearance levels and/or various linguistic profiles.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Successful completion of one of the following:
(1) the Military Ammunition Technical Officers Course or
(2) Military Ammunition Technician training to the level of QL 6B / QL 7 or
(3) Civilian Ammunition Technician level 5

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
E1: *Recent and significant experience in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Ammunition field;
E2: Experience in determining infrastructure requirements supporting the CAF ammunition program (new construction, technology requirements, licensing considerations)
E3: Experience in interpreting, applying, and providing advice on ammunition and explosive policy, regulations and directives;
E4: Experience working at a Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot (CFAD).
E5: Experience producing written material to brief senior management (Senior management is defined as Director and above).

*Recent and significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over a period of three (3) years of full-time work in the field/discipline within the past 5 years.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

AEXN Qualification

Training in the following courses:

EXPERIENCE
AEX1:Experience in the use of the Ammunition Information Management System (AIMS)
AEX2:Experience in managing an explosive safety program;
AEX3:Experience in Process Audit (Quality Assurance / Quality Control);
AEX4:Experience in transporting dangerous goods

K1:Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines as they pertain to the operations of the Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot.
K2:Knowledge of policy relating to inventory control, technical services, stock taking and regulatory compliances of Canadian Armed Forces ammunition and explosives.

ABILITIES
A1:Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
A2:Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A3:Ability to advise on Ammunition Warehousing, Maintenance and Repair procedures.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Willing and able to work for extended periods of two (2) hours of sitting or standing in an office setting,

Willing and able to walk extended distances (up to 2km) and climb ladders/stairs during unit inspections.

Willing and able to travel

Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Canadian passport.

Willing and able to pass initial baseline General Technical (GT) – Civilian Ammunition Technician (CAT) medical screening.
