EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Stream 1 (EC-04)
Experience* developing partnerships and collaborating on the development of policies or regulations related to the environment.
Experience* preparing briefing material for senior management***.
Experience* conducting research and analysis on environmental or energy related issues.
Stream 2 (EC-05)
Significant** experience* participating in multi-stakeholder consultations to develop policies or regulations.
Significant** experience* developing briefings and providing written advice and recommendations to senior management***.
Experience* leading research and analysis on complex environmental or energy related issues.
*Experience is defined as the depth and breadth associated with full-time performance of duties in a work environment.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
All streams (EC-04, EC-05)
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in public administration, environmental studies or law.
Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, public administration, environmental studies, law or statistics.
Various language requirements
This selection process may be used to staff similar positions with linguistic profiles such as Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC as well as English Essential or French Essential.

Knowledge of the priorities of Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Government of Canada as they relate to the environment.
Knowledge of current economic, technological and social trends related to energy and climate change.
