Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
The objective of this process is to fill a position of indeterminate biologist (species at risk) in Iqaluit, Nunavut, and an indeterminate biologist (species at risk) position in Yellowknife (NWT).
A pool of qualified candidates will be established in order to staff similar positions of different durations (appointments for specified or indeterminate periods, acting appointments, extensions, assignments and secondments) with various employment conditions in Iqaluit, Yellowknife or Whitehorse.
Important Note: The preference for position in Iqaluit will be given to Nunavut Inuit.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in natural, physical or applied science or a field relevant to the duties of the position.
Note:
1. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
EXPERIENCE
EX1-Experience working with external partners on issues related to wildlife management. (Could include: territorial government departments, federal departments, wildlife management boards, Aboriginal communities/organizations or non-government organizations.)
EX2-Experience analyzing, summarizing and reporting on data or information relating to ecological research or wildlife surveys.

KN1-Knowledge of ecology and population dynamics.
KN2-Knowledge of federal or territorial legislation for wildlife management.
KN3-Knowledge of the production of scientific documents in plain language. (could include the following: peer-reviewed articles, reports, posters, brochures, presentations, etc.).
KN4-Knowledge of biology and issues related to the management of species at risk in the north.

Reliability Status security clearance
