There is an immediate need to staff one (1) permanent GL ELE 04 (B2) position position in Kingston, Ontario.
This pool may also be used to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures such as indeterminate and term within National Defence - Assistant Deputy Minister (Infrastructure & Environment) - Real Property Operations Units (Ontario).

Education:
EDU 1: Successful completion of secondary school education or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Occupational Certification:
OC1: Possession of a valid and unrestricted driver’s license for class G vehicles from the Province of Ontario or other provincial or territorial equivalent.
Experience:
E1 - Experience supervising employees.
E2 - Experience working in grounds maintenance; including landscaping, turf and trees.
E3 - Experience in snow removal operating the related equipment and tools.
E4 - Experience using a computer and applications such as Microsoft Office.
E5 - Experience maintaining and repairing outdoor infrastructure such as roads, fence/gates, flag poles and bridges.
E6 - Experience maintaining and accounting for inventory and ordering material.
E7 – Experience working in multi construction trades such as; basic carpentry, concrete masonry, sewer, water, storm and demolition.

OC 2: Possession of a valid Ontario Pesticide Exterminator's License.

AQ1 – Possession of certification or completion of training in one or more of the Health and Safety related field: First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, General Safety, HAZMAT, Confined Space Entry, and Fall Arrest.
AQ2 - Possession of a certification as chain saw operator.
Experience:
AQ3 - Experience operating various equipment such as skid steer, tractors and trackless with attachments.
AQ4 – Experience in backing up trailers of various sizes.
AQ5 - Experience mentoring & managing performance
AQ6 – Experience working in a fast paced and changing environment, dealing with lots of pressure or changing priorities
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
OR1: Willingness to wear all Personal Protective Equipment.
OR2: Willingness to perform a variety of physical tasks including but not limited to repetitive lifting up to 30kg, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, sitting, color determination, speaking and listening.
OR3: Willingness to work in stressful environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold/heat temperatures, wet weather, bugs, etc. for prolonged periods.
OR4: May be required to occasionally work on high structures or in confined spaces.
OR5: May be required to work overtime including evenings and weekends.
Reliability Status security clearance
- Possession of a valid and unrestricted driver’s license for class G vehicles from the Province of Ontario or other provincial or territorial equivalent.
- A current and acceptable driver’s abstract
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DND 404 Driver’s License.
- Willingness to perform a variety of physical tasks.
