Duties

We are seeking a well-organized, collaborative and self-motivated Executive Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing organization dedicated to protecting financial consumers and promoting financial literacy. Supporting the Agency's Leader, you will play an essential role in the our continued success. You will also be an ambassador for us, in your daily interactions with employees, and while managing relationships with external stakeholders from both the national and global financial stages.

Work environment

FCAC is a Separate Agency that offers the same pension and benefits plans as the Core Federal Public Service. In addition, you will benefit from a minimum of four (4) weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and be eligible for an annual performance pay. We have our own classification system (RE and REX).

Intent of the process

A pool of candidates resulting from this process may be established and used to staff similar positions at various groups and levels, with various tenures, language requirements and security levels at FCAC.

ED1. A secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EX1. Significant** experience providing administrative services to a senior manager*, including:
a. coordinating and managing calendars,
b. coordinating and preparing briefing material for meetings or conferences,
c. maintaining e-filing and a correspondence system,
d. assigning and tracking tasks, and
e. editing and reviewing correspondence or briefing notes for the purpose of quality control.
EX2. Significant** experience in liaising with senior managers* and their offices.
EX3. Significant** experience in managing conflicting priorities and multiple tasks associated with a senior manager’s office.

* “Senior manager” is defined as EX-01 equivalent or above.
** "Significant" is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of 12 months on a full-time basis.

AEX3. Experience preparing and coordinating travel arrangements and claims using the Shared Travel Services portal (STS) , provided by HRG.
AEX4. Experience working in a Senior Director, Director General or Assistant Deputy Minister’s office (EX-02 equivalent, or above).
