- To prepare biological samples as required by the experiment;
- To use bioinformatic / statistical softwares to analyze genomic/phenotypic data;
- To perform data analyses of data sets to validate biological hypotheses;
- To summarize and interpret results in the format of scientific manuscript(s) to be published in recognized peer-reviewed journal(s);
- To write reports of research and to present the research findings at workshops and scientific meetings;
- To write and defend an MSc thesis; wherein, the report of the research carried out during the MSc project is reported.
The research will be conducted in Ottawa at the Ottawa Research and Development Centre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
Office (computer), laboratory (equipment, chemicals & UV), field, greenhouses, growth cabinets, laminar flow hood.
The student is expected (1) to set up in vivo and in vitro experiments with various plants species colonized with AMF, (2) to analyze data using various softwares, (3) to propagate and maintain AMF and plants under in vivo and in vitro conditions, (4) to sample fungal and plant tissues and (5) to process these samples in the lab applying various methodologies.

Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a Master of Science program in Biology at the University of Ottawa.
Experience in in vitro and in vivo propagation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF).
Experience in sterilization and imbibition of seeds.
Experience in soil preparation.
Experience in root staining procedures.
Experience in microscopy.
English essential

Knowledge in microscopy, microbiology, plant and fungal biology and statistics (Rstudio).
