1. Have you provided strategic advice and guidance of a technical nature and involving technology matters? If so to whom?

3. Have you developed and leveraged partnerships to achieve organizational objectives? Please explain how and provide examples.

4. Provide example(s) of where you have worked effectively and independently on multiple assignments within a fast-paced environment.

5. What level of experience do you have working within project teams? Explain the project(s), your role and the outcome.

6. Explain in detail any experience you have in leading project teams or in the management of human resources, if applicable.

*Note that we will assess your answers based on your level of experience.
For example, a junior engineer may have had some of this type of experience as a co-op student or as part of university assignments.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

The CRTC oversees an industry that relies on technology to provide communication services to Canadians and our decision makers need to take technical trends and issues into account. Engineers at the CRTC face the following specific challenges:

-You must be a critical-thinker who is able to provide solid technical advice while always considering the impact of your recommendations on the industry and on Canadians

-You must be able to effectively explain technology to a non-technical audience and present your ideas effectively taking into account the big picture

-You must work well with your colleagues in a fast-paced environment as we are a small, nimble organization that gets things done quickly

Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established for indeterminate, determinate and acting appointments, as well as for assignments, deployments and secondments to staff similar positions with various linguistic or security requirements or profiles.

YOU SHOULD ALSO KNOW:

• If you are successful, we will ask you to submit documentation demonstrating that you have a Bachelor degree from a recognized university in electrical, mechanical, civil or industrial engineering or with another specialization relevant to duties of the position.

• We will also ask whether you are eligible for certification as a professional engineer in Canada.
