Work environment

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the court. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory selection process. This process will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates that may used to staff various EG-05 positions (English Essential only) with various tenures (Indeterminate, Term, Acting, Secondment, Assignment) and various locations within Correctional Service Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION

EED1: Post-secondary graduation in a field of environmental sciences, environmental studies, sustainability, environmental management, environmental engineering technology, or an acceptable combination of education (at minimum, a secondary school diploma), training and experience in a field related to the above.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EEX1: A minimum of two years of experience in coordinating and implementing environmental initiatives or environmental sustainability projects
EEX2: Recent* experience in conducting environmental compliance audits and preparation of monitoring reports
EEX3: Experience in providing advice to management on environmental performance

*Recent experience is defined as being within the last three (3) years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

AED1: Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Energy Management, or Environmental Engineering Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution, or in some other field relevant to the position

AEX1: Experience in providing training, instruction, or awareness sessions related to environmental compliance or management
AEX2: Experience in developing procedures on environmental issues
AEX3: Experience in implementing environmental policies
AEX4: Experience related to Wastewater or Water Treatment Plant processes, operations, or management
