Work environment

CFB Suffield is considered to be a semi-isolated base. We are located approximately 50 kms north west of the City of Medicine Hat in the southeast corner of Alberta. Most of the civilian personnel who work at the base live either in Medicine Hat or in the small town of Redcliff just to the west of the Medicine Hat city limits. This is an important point to note as there is no accommodation on the base and there is no public transportation to the base. Personnel either drive their own vehicle or car pool with others. Commuting assistance is provided for employees who live in Medicine Hat or Redcliff. For other information on the City of Medicine Hat, I suggest you look at their website at www.medicinehat.ca. For information on CFB Suffield, please visit: https://www.cafconnection.ca/Suffield/Home.aspx.

Candidates may be contacted and assessed against these criteria at any time during this process.

Successful candidate(s) must meet and maintain the Conditions of Employment throughout their employment.

Achieving a representative workforce has been identified as an organizational need in the merit criteria, and may be applied in this appointment process. If this criterion is used, only those who have indicated that they are a member of the designated group specified in the merit criteria will be considered.
