Process Details
***************************
There will be three (3) stages to the assessment process:
1. Online Application
2. Tests
3. Second Language Evaluation by the Public Service Commission

Candidates who qualify in all assessment stages will be placed in a partially qualified pool. Hiring managers may then invite candidates on this list to participate in informal interviews or reference checks to fill positions.

Please note that the ability to communicate effectively in writing will be assessed in the first stage (online application).

***************************
Assessments approach
***************************
Random selection and/or top-down selection will be used at any time during the process to identify which applicants will be further assessed.

Top-down ranking can be used at any stage of the assessment process where only the top scoring candidates will be invited to the next stage of the assessment. Please note that different pass marks and cut-off scores can be used at various stages of the assessment process. Candidates who attain the pass mark might not be further considered in the process if they do not achieve the cut-off score.

Persons are entitled to participate in the appointment process in the official language of their choice.

We ask for your collaboration to ensure an efficient process but we will also provide some flexibility to candidates. Assessments will occur on an ongoing basis and you will be provided the flexibility to undertake some assessments during the day, evenings or weekends at your convenience.

While we understand you have work and family commitments, we are seeking candidates that make all possible efforts to follow through on their commitments and adapt to operational challenges as they arise, in a selection process as in their job. We will not consider requests for rescheduling beyond the reasons we will outline to candidates.

At the time of assessment, proof of Canadian Citizenship and proof of education will be required. A security check may also be administered during assessment.

***************************
Education Requirements
***************************
You must provide proof of your education during the assessment phase. Candidates with foreign education credentials are required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Any applicable fees are the responsibility of the candidate.

The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) assists persons who wish to obtain an assessment of their educational, professional, and occupational credentials by referring them to the appropriate organizations.

You can access the CICIC website at: https://www.cicic.ca/ . This website provides links to a number of Canadian organizations that provide equivalency assessments.
