Important messages

We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request special accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation is kept confidential.

We will only accept on-line applications received via the GC Jobs site at: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-service-commission/jobs/services/gc-jobs.html. To submit an application on-line, please select the button "Apply Online" below. Persons with disabilities preventing them from applying on-line should contact 1-800-645-5605.

When you apply, you will be asked if you have the right to practice as a land surveyor in a Canadian jurisdiction. If you do not have the right to practice as a land surveyor in a Canadian jurisdiction then your application will be rejected and you need NOT go any further with this process.

However, if you have the right to practice as a land surveyor in a Canadian jurisdiction, then in addition to your on-line application, we encourage you to prepare and submit a personal detailed narrative self-assessment or executive summary. This must clearly demonstrate how you meet each “essential qualification”, “asset qualification" and other qualifications that "may be needed for the job" as specified on this advertisement. One effective approach would be to use the wording of each essential and asset criterion (qualification) listed below as a heading and then provide clear and accurate details demonstrating your qualifications for that criterion.

For each qualification, you may describe work-related examples explaining how you have demonstrated the specified qualification. The description of each event should focus on your role. You may describe, including detailed examples, how you meet all elements of each qualification; identify the context, the actions you undertook, and the results achieved.

In addition to your application, your résumé (CV) and, if you have chosen to do so, your narrative self-assessment or executive summary, you must submit a paper (expert report, article, etc) you authored which will be used to further evaluate your “ability to communicate effectively in writing”.

SUBMIT YOUR NARRATIVE SELF-ASSESSMENT OR EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AND PAPER DIRECTLY TO NO LATER THAN THE CLOSING DATE MENTIONED ABOVE.

NB: YOU DO NOT NEED TO REPEAT ANY DETAILED INFORMATION PROVIDED IN YOUR NARRATIVE SELF-ASSESSMENT OR EXECUTIVE SUMMARY (IF YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO DO SO) WITHIN YOUR ON-LINE APPLICATION.
