Intent of the process

The intention of this process is to staff an indeterminate (permanent) position.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic and security requirements, conditions of employment and tenures.

EDUCATION:

• Secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Recent experience* of receiving and shipping material.

• Recent experience* in using a material management system software.

• Recent experience* in supervising staff.

*Recent experience is defined as having performed similar tasks in the past three years.

• Experience of the software SAP MM or PM module.

• Experience of budget management.

• Experience of staff performance management.

• Experience in stocktaking of a warehouse.

Information on language requirements

KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of regulations and procedures governing storage of material (including hazardous materials).

• Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) Regulations.

• Knowledge of health and safety practices applicable to a warehouse.

• Knowledge of import/export clearance process of material.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Works in a noisy, windowless warehouse.

• Is exposed to dust, gas fumes from vehicles, fumes from chemicals and to all weather conditions when working outdoors.

• Occupational health and safety training provided by the Canadian Space Agency.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

• Ability to lift and move heavy loads weighting up to 25kg.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Protective footwear, hard hats, safety glasses and protective clothing are mandatory
