Experience working in a graving dock environment or shipyard.
Experience in performing general labor tasks as they relate to buildings and grounds maintenance.
Experience operating and maintaining industry specific tools used in construction and building maintenance. (i.e. hand and power tools, chainsaws, power washers).

Ability to read and interpret manuals and drawings.
Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement in the Building trade or trades.
Boater's certification and/or work boat/boom experience.
Knowledge docking and undocking of caissons procedures.
Knowledge of environmental procedures and best practices including spill response in a shipyard environment.
Knowledge of safe rigging practices and procedures.
Knowledge of operating snow removal equipment.
Knowledge of confined space procedures.
Knowledge in the use of fall arrest and procedures.
Ability to operate dockyard equipment (such as cranes, pumps, forklifts and/or tractors)
Placement of PSPC employees affected by work force adjustment. Placement of employees subject to current or future organization. Reliability Status security clearance
Possession of a valid class 5 Driver's license;
Required to wear all applicable personal protective equipment.
Willingness and able to work shift work, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays when required.
Willingness and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Willingness and able to work in confined spaces.
Required to lift objects up to 23 kg. or 50 lbs.
Willing and able to climb ladders and work at heights in excess of 50 m.
Medical suitability.
Required to enter confined spaces;
Required to climb ladders to access cranes;
Required to work at heights in excess of 200 feet; and
Required to wear all applicable personal protective equipment.
