CRITERIA TO BE ASSESSED THROUGH THE SCREENING QUESTIONS:
WRITTEN COMMUNICATION will be assessed through the screening questions. In your responses to the screening questions, please ensure that you:
a) Provide concrete and detailed examples to justify your responses (please provide examples that occurred within the last three (3) years)
b) Specify the approximate timeframe that each example occurred (ie. February - June 2017)
c) Clearly identify which organization you were working for at the time
Please note that in addition to all assessment methods, correspondence and communication in relation to this selection process may also be used to assess certain qualifications.
You must clearly indicate your education level. Candidates invited to the assessment stage will be required to provide ORIGINAL proof of their education credentials, i.e., their degree and official transcript. It is your responsibility to provide this information when requested.
Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Consult the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials for further information at http://www.cicic.ca
The public service will accept any Foreign Educational Credentials as long as they are deemed comparable to Canadian standards, through a recognized credential assessment service.
Failure to produce Canadian equivalency will result in you being eliminated from the process.
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions.

Your résumé.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization* in accounting, finance, business administration, OR commerce AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group; OR possession of a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA).
*For this selection process, specialization is defined as successful completion of six (6) accounting and/or finance courses at the university level.
Experience managing an in-year budget.

• Experience analyzing financial information and preparing reports for management
• Experience in business planning and/or resource management
• Experience using financial systems
• Experience in providing advice, guidance and interpretation on financial information, policies, or procedures
*Experience is defined as having the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over a period of 1 year.
Ability to analyze financial data, evaluate issues and recommend plans and solutions
Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
Ability to provide advice to clients and management
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
