We are a busy organization of about 800 employees including regional offices with an exciting mandate.We are a positive, dynamic team who work hard but also likes to bring humor and fun to the workplace.
A pool will be created to staff various types of positions within the Public Service Commission.
Here are a few examples:
- E-Testing Coordinator
In an operational environment, your work will focus on customer service to enable certified Testing Administrators (TAs) from more than 85 federal departments in Canada and abroad to conduct online tests that meet the standards of the Personnel Psychology Centre (PPC) of the Public Service Commission.
The persons in these positions are in charge of controlling access and providing operational services to enable PPC compliant online testing. Each incumbent of these positions has an impact on the integrity and security of thousands of tests each year. In addition you will have to provide front-line information on the systems/databases used by the PPC.
- Human Resources Assistant
You will get lots of exposure to all types of staffing actions, deal with different and unique client groups and participate in implementing new and innovative ways of attracting new talent! For example, HR assistants prepare job advertisements, enter data into HR systems, create electronic files, coordinate second language tests, etc.
- Administrative Assistant
For the Administrative Assistant stream, the tasks may include coordinating meetings, making purchases, preparing various administrative requests such as training sessions or travel arrangements or any other administrative tasks to support a team and/or a manager.
You will work in a healthy environment that offers great work-life balance, a modern building in downtown Gatineau with gyms and cafés just a few steps away, access to showers, bus routes and bike/jogging paths nearby. It is also WI-FI ready, you can work anywhere in the building, including at our Active Work Stations, equipped with a treadmill or a stationary bicycle.
The results of this process will initially be used to create a pool of qualified candidates that could be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, term or acting basis within the Public Service Commission.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Successful completion of one year of an acceptable post-secondary educational program, College Diploma, Vocational Diploma (DVS) OR an Attestation of College Studies (ACS) in a field related to the position.
EXPERIENCES:
- Experience with data entry in the HR Systems PeopleSoft 8.9 or 9.1 (My GCHR)
- Experience working in a staffing environment
- Experience providing administrative support to management
- Experience in a call-center
- Experience administering tests
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness to work on a schedule of 7.5 hours per day between 7:00AM and 5:00PM.
Reliability Status security clearance
Applicants must complete the Unsupervised Internet Test of Cognitive Ability - Level 1 as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses general problem solving and reasoning ability. You will have 60 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
