Intent of the process

One (1) position to be filled for one (1) year with possibility of extension.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions within Elections Canada with various linguistic profiles: bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, with various tenures ( various specified periods or indeterminate).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Notes:

Candidates must always have a university degree. The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience :

Experience in conducting qualitative or quantitative research.
Experience in writing research reports.
Experience in providing advice or recommendations to a supervisor/manager.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge :

Knowledge of Elections Canada's mandate.
Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods used in Social Sciences.

Abilities:

Ability to work under pressure.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Master’s degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in political science, sociology, marketing, communication, psychology, or public administration.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

Experience in programming in SPSS, STATA or SAS.
Experience in drafting survey questionnaires.
Experience in working with large-scale databases.
Experience in designing or conducting program evaluations.
Experience in developing performance measures and indicators.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:

Willingness and ability to work overtime under short notice.
