The intent of this process is to staff two (2) EC-04 positions indeterminately in Gatineau, Quebec, with various language requirements/linguistic profiles. A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions, with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment, acting, acting extensions, assignment, secondment), language requirements/linguistic profiles (English Essential, Bilingual imperative (BBB/BBB)) and/or security status (Reliability or Secret) within Environment and Climate Change Canada in the National Capital Region.

EDUCATION:
ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics AND a specialization in environmental studies, environmental sciences, sciences, political science, public policy, law, liberal arts, international affairs, international development or trade, or journalism.
NOTE: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
EX1. Experience in preparing (writing, editing) material (e.g., briefing notes, memos, presentations, reports) for various audiences.
EX2. Experience in developing options or recommendations for management.
EX3. Experience in conducting analysis on environmental issues.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
AED1. An advanced degree (Master or Doctorate) from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a discipline relevant to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE:
AEX1. Experience working in a policy- or program-related area in a science-based environment.
AEX2. Experience participating in the development of Cabinet documents.
AEX3. Experience in representing your organization at meetings, committees or working groups (for instance, composed of representatives from governments, organizations and other stakeholders).
AEX4. Experience working in an international context, such as working with officials from other countries or international organizations or other international stakeholders.
AEX5. Experience in project management.
AEX6. Experience supporting consultation and engagement activities.
AEX7. Experience engaging stakeholders and in participating in multi-stakeholder consultations to develop programs, policies or regulations.
