A pool of qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff identical or similar positions within Library and Archives Canada using various languages requirements and/or various tenures according to the positions being staffed.

    This exam will be used to evaluate the following criteria:
    • Knowledge of Photoshop, Bridge and Acrobat within the Adobe Creative Cloud software.
    • Knowledge of the methods and techniques related to proper handling of library or archival material.
    • Knowledge of methods and techniques used to digitize, process and conduct quality assurance activities on digital images.

Experience:

-Experience using production scanners for digitization purposes in a professional workplace environment.
-Recent and significant experience* of the methods and techniques used to digitize and process digital images.
-Recent and significant experience* using Photoshop, Bridge and Acrobat in the Adobe Creative Cloud software.

* “Recent and significant experience” is defined as having at least six (6) months experience within the last four (4) years.

Operational Requirements:

-Work flexible hours
-Willing and able to work overtime, on occasion and on short notice
-Ability and willingness to work in a dark environment
-Ability and willingness to work in a dusty environment
-Ability and willingness to work in a noisy environment.

Some work locations are not accessible via public transportation. Therefore, incumbents will be required to find the appropriate means of transportation.
