ALL STREAMS:
EDUCATION:
• A secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
ALL STREAMS:
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
• possession of a valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License - Aeroplane Category with valid Group 1 Instrument Rating AND possession of a valid Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical);
OR
• possession of a valid Canadian Commercial Pilot License - Helicopter Category with a valid Group IV Instrument Rating AND possession of a valid Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical).
ALL STREAMS:
Experience:
• Total of 1500 hours flight time, which includes 500 hours is in either multi-engine aeroplanes OR 500 hours single engine turbine powered aircraft OR medium or heavy category helicopters.
For Stream 2 only:
Total of 2,500 hours of flight time, which includes 1,500 hours as a pilot-in-command of which 500 hours is in either multiple engine aeroplanes OR Transport Category helicopters.
All Streams:
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a pilot at a Canadian Air Operator, Private Operator, Flight Training Unit or in the Canadian Military.
For Stream 2 only :
• Experience in analyzing complex situations and making recommendations.
• Experience in working with risk management concepts and principles.
ALL STREAMS:
EDUCATION:
Degree from a recognized university; or Post-secondary education in an aviation or related program to the position
STREAM 1 EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in developing policies, procedures, or standards
• Experience exercising Ministerial Authority under the Aeronautics Act and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
• Experience writing documents such as: company operations manuals, technical bulletins, operational procedures and guidance material, training materials, Power Point presentations and other written correspondence.
• Experience in the planning OR coordination OR management OR execution of the delivery of aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS, or equivalent programs)
• Experience in working with risk management concepts and principles
• Experience in managing or supervising a team
• Experience with Unmanned Vehicle Systems
STREAM 2: EXPERIENCE
• Experience as pilot-in-command of multi-engine turbo-jet transport airplanes of a maximum certified take-off gross weight of a minimum of 50,000 pounds.
• Experience in 702, 703, 704 or 705 operations.
• Experience as a helicopter flight crew member on offshore operations.
• Experience as pilot in command (PIC) in global operations.
• Holds a Canadian Flight Instructor Rating OR a Canadian Forces Instructor Category
• Experience in working in ANY of the following positions:
o Director, Flight Operations
o Chief Pilot or Standards Captain or Chief Flight Instructor or equivalent
o Training Captain
o Manufacturers Test Pilot
o Approved Check Pilot or Pilot Examiner
• Experience in conducting training lessons or information briefings.
• Experience in developing policies, procedures, or standards
• Experience writing documents such as: company operations manuals, technical bulletins, operational procedures and guidance material, training materials, Power Point presentations and other written correspondence.
• Experience in the planning OR coordination OR management OR execution of the delivery of aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS, or equivalent programs).
• Experience in managing or supervising a team
• Experience using current navigation systems, flight management systems and instrument flight guidance systems.

• Required to work in an aviation environment (i.e. noise, fumes, hazards)
• Required to work overtime, irregular hours and weekends
Secret security clearance
• Must have a valid Airline Transport Pilot License.
• Must hold a valid Passport for international travel.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s license.
• Willingness and ability to maintain professional aviation currency.
