The first cohort (draw) of this inventory is expected to be identified at the beginning of October 2018, with assessments completed and hiring beginning at the end of December 2018.

The assessment of candidates should take place in three (3) phases:

Phase 1- Analytical and Problem Solving Exercise (APSE)

We will assess Judgement (Essential Qualification) via an Analytical and Problem Solving Exercise (APSE). This test will be administered electronically by a third-party test administrator (EPSI).

Phase 2 – Situational Judgement Test for Professional (SJT-PRO)

We will assess the following competencies via a Situational Judgement Test (SJT-PRO): Working with Others, Initiative and Action Oriented, and Thinking Things Through (Essential Qualifications). This test will be administered electronically by a third-party test administrator, (EPSI).

Phase 3- Text Question /Application

Your answer to the Text Question within the TEXT section of your application will be used to evaluate the following essential qualification: Written Communication.

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience producing research reports related to economic, social, learning or labour market issues.
• Experience working on economic, social, learning or labour market issues within at least one of following:
- Provincial or Territorial government;
- Non-Governmental organization (NGO);
- Think Tank;
- Research Institute.
• Experience in conducting legal research or analyzing statutes and regulations.
• Experience in developing tools that contribute to Service or Program Delivery (such as guidance documents, training documents, IT solutions, business process, or others).
• Experience conducting research or analysis using at least one of the following:
- Micro-data from Statistics Canada surveys;
- Longitudinal or administrative datasets.

Candidates must meet all the essential criteria in order to be appointed.
However, applicants may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.

Please note that asset qualifications, top-down and/or random selection may be used at any stage of the assessment process to identify which applications will be given further consideration.

What is a top-down selection? It is where only the top scoring candidates will be invited to the next stage of the assessment. Please note that different pass marks and cut-off scores can be used at various stages of the assessment process. Candidates who attain the pass mark might not be further considered in the process if they do not achieve the cut-off score.

We ask for your collaboration to ensure an efficient process but we will also try to provide some flexibility to candidates as to where and when the assessments could occur, and the assessments will be done on an ongoing basis. Please note that testing may be administered during the day, evenings and/or weekends. We will not consider requests for rescheduling beyond the reasons we will outline to candidates. Candidates who do not respond to inquiries from the assessment committee by the required deadlines or fail to attend/complete the assessment without good reason may be eliminated from further consideration.

At the time of assessment, proof of Canadian Citizenship and proof of education will be required. A security check may also be administered during assessment.
