Intent of the process

Immediate need will be to fill 1 determinate position of 3 years.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (term, indeterminate, deployment, assignment, secondment).

EDUCATION

ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering or in another field of engineering relevant to the position

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

*Experience in at least three (3) of the five (5) fields:
EX1. Experience with communication technologies (e.g.: radios, data links, VoIP, 4G-LTE, WiFi).
EX2. Experience with sensor technologies (e.g.: cameras, lasers, radars).
EX3. Experience with programming languages (e.g.: C#, C++, Java, Python).
EX4. Experience in the planning/execution of systems integration tests.
EX5. Experience in writing technical reports, as well as preparation and delivery of presentations.

KNOWLEDGE

K1. Knowledge of software development processes and associated documentation.
K2. Knowledge of networking devices and computer security appliances.
K3. Knowledge of wireless communications systems.
K4. Knowledge of project management principles.

ABILITIES

A1. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
A2. Ability to coordinate several projects at once
A3. Ability to analyze and solve technical problems and to formulate effective recommendations

ASSET EXPERIENCE

*Significant experience of two (2) years in at least one of the three following fields :
AEX1. Experience in development of military systems combining communication technologies and computer networks.
AEX2. Experience in avionics software development including all the phases of the software life cycle.
AEX3. Experience in programming with different target environments (e.g.: Windows, Linux, Android) and communication protocols (e.g.: Sockets, DCOM, JSON).

Conditions of employment

- Security levels: Relaiability, Secret and Top Secret
- Be available to lead and coordinate field trials
- Be prepared to travel in Canada and internationally a few times per year
