The work is carried out in an office environment at National Headquarters. There is an occasional requirement to travel to the regions and to correctional institutions to participate in activities related to core business such as attend meetings, lead quality assurance audits and inspections.
The intent of this selection process is to fill one immediate vacancy. A pool of qualified candidates may be established.

Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized school of Pharmacy.
Occupational certification
Eligibility for registration as a pharmacist in a province or territory of Canada.
Experience
Experience in conducting or reviewing clinical research and analysis to support strategies or decisions related to drug use.
Experience in a clinical practice in a community pharmacy or hospital pharmacy setting.
Education
Doctorate of Pharmacy; or Masters in Clinical Pharmacy; or a Residency in Hospital Pharmacy; or health economics; or pharmacoeconomic; or epidemiology; or biostatistics; or an advanced degree in another relevant specialty.
Experience
Experience in providing pharmaceutical advice to senior management or authorities.
Experience using pharmacoeconomic evaluation techniques.
Experience designing procedures for the collection and analysis of data related to drug utilization.
Experience implementing new or updated pharmacy software.
Experience in providing or coordinating clinical pharmacy services in a community or hospital setting
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge
Knowledge of current pharmaceutical practice and therapeutics which includes but is not limited to current guidelines, current medication use, terminology, drug classification etc.
Knowledge of principles of evidence-based medicine.
Knowledge of the model pharmacy standards of practice for pharmacists in Canada.
Knowledge of relevant federal legislation, such as the Canada Health Act, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Food and Drug Act, and provincial regulations regarding the prescribing, dispensing and procurement of pharmaceuticals.
Abilities
Ability to communicate information effectively, orally and in writing.
Ability to develop policies and/or strategies and design criteria and implement procedures that operationalize policy change.
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams or stakeholders in significant projects and/or committees such as a pharmacy and therapeutics or formulary related committee.
Ability to analyze and interpret pharmaceutical data and provide advice to patients, colleagues or management.
Ability to make clinical decisions based on client needs and funding restrictions or priorities.
