Important messages

We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request special accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.

Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

*An amendment has been made to the closing date*

***IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS***

1. The application process includes screening questions that will be used as part of the assessment. You will be prompted to complete a self-assessment on some qualifications. We cannot make assumptions about your qualifications. It is important that candidates clearly demonstrate how and why they meet the qualifications, giving detailed examples for each element. As such, it is imperative that candidates adequately complete the screening questionnaire and manage their time accordingly.

2. As asset qualifications could be used for referral of candidates, please ensure you complete the screening questions if you meet these qualifications. A person may be appointed even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, it may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

3. Job offers resulting from this inventory will be either permanent (indeterminate), specified period (term) appointments, part-time worker or casual employment. Candidates may be randomly selected* from the inventory for assessment purposes.

*Random selection is a strategy that is sometimes used to manage applicant volume. It identifies a sub-sample of applicants by applying the element of chance using criteria identified by the hiring organization. The Public Service Resourcing System - the electronic system used to advertise this job opportunity and receive and select applications - will perform the random selection function in this process.

4. For the experience criteria, please note that it is not sufficient to only state that the qualification is met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. The candidate must provide concrete examples to demonstrate that the qualification is met. In addition, the candidate is encouraged to describe in detail when, where and how he/she gained the experience.

5. Resumés will be used ONLY as a secondary source to validate the experience described.

6. FAILURE TO PROVIDE AN APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF DETAIL WILL RESULT IN THE REJECTION OF YOUR APPLICATION. CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE SOLICITED FOR INCOMPLETE OR POSSIBLE MISSING INFORMATION.

PLEASE NOTE: The ability to communicate effectively in writing will be assessed through your cover letter and resume.

Your application in this inventory will be active for 60 days. A notice that your application is about to expire will be posted to the My jobs menu of your account 7 days before the end of your active period. If you do not take action, your application will no longer be active and therefore no longer considered for this inventory. Should your application become inactive while the process is still open, a notice will be posted to your account indicating that your application has expired; you may select the link Update my Inventory Status to reaffirm your interest.
