Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar, term and/or permanent positions, acting, assignments/secondments, or deployments.
The intent is to staff via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
NOTE TO APPLICANTS: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in leading horizontal multi-disciplinary initiatives.
• Significant* experience in developing formal written products including at least two of the following: statistical narrative reports, briefing notes, evaluation reports or presentations.
• Significant* experience in evaluating and analyzing qualitative and quantitative information, and developing recommendations.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders.
Note: Significant* experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over a minimum of 2 year(s)
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to evaluate and analyze qualitative and quantitative information; including economic, socio-economic, financial and statistical data in order to develop trends and statistical indicators.
• Ability to monitor, analyze and synthesize information related to policy, program and/or legislation in order to identify emerging issues.

EDUCATION
• Completion of a Master’s Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in sociology, economics, statistics or another related field.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience working with First Nations or Inuit clients.
• Experience in coordinating/leading planning and/or evaluating activities.
ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:
In alignment with the First Nations Inuit Health Branch Aboriginal Persons Employment Program and in support of increasing Aboriginal representation in areas having the most impact on program delivery and health outcomes of FNIHB’s target population, selection may be limited to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples. Aboriginal candidates will be required to complete the Affirmation of Aboriginal Affiliation Form (AAAF) prior to hiring.
