Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position in Edmonton, Alberta.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff future indeterminate and /or temporary vacancies in Edmonton, AB within the RCMP. In the event of a temporary vacancy, the following staffing actions may be used and /or considered: acting appointment, term appointment, assignment or secondment.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Recent* Experience in general clinical nursing or Public Health nursing

*Recent refers to the performance of relevant duties for a period within the last 5 years

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Graduation with a certificate or diploma in occupational health nursing from a recognized post-secondary institution

Degree equivalency

Successful completion of the Canadian Nurses Association national occupational nursing certification exam

Experience working in an occupational health environment.

Experience providing and maintaining an immunization program.

Experience in Disability Case Management.

Current registration as a registered nurse in the province / territory of employment and a member in good standing in that province and eligibility to become registered in Alberta at the time of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment.

Continuous professional registration with CARNA

Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility associated with the possession of a valid driver’s license.
