The Northwest Territories Regional Office (NWTRO) is responsible for the prosecution of all federal offences in the NWT. The regional headquarters is located in Yellowknife. Communities throughout the NWT are served by circuit in both the Territorial and Supreme Court. Prosecutors and Crown Witness Coordinators travel by air to some 20 communities and by road to one community.
Crown Witness Coordinators work closely with Crown prosecutors, victims, witnesses, and the community to provide a critical link between the criminal justice system and victims of crime. This small but essential support team for witnesses and victims of crime provide services throughout the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. As the supervisor in Yellowknife, duties will include the supervision of 7 employees and the assignment of work. You will also act as a subject matter expert and will play a key role in the development of procedures and policies.
Additional benefits of working in the Northwest Territories Regional Office:
1) In addition to your base salary, you will receive an Isolated Post Allowance (Northern Allowance) which ranges from $18,375 - $25,431 annually depending on your circumstances.
2) In addition to your base salary and your Isolated Post Allowance, you will also receive a Vacation Travel Assistance (VTA) once a year that will support you to travel on vacation outside of the territory - approximately $990 per year per person.

Education:
- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
- Significant* experience providing support to victims of crime or vulnerable populations.
- Experience working with individuals dealing with sensitive or complicated issues.
- Experience providing leadership** within a team.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over a one (1) year period.
**Leadership may include providing guidance, oversight, mentorship, or direction to individuals internal or external to the organization.
Asset Qualifications - Experience:
- Experience working in a Northern environment.
- Experience working in a legal environment.
- Experience working in a cross cultural environment, particularly in Indigenous communities.

Operational Requirement:
- Ability to lift boxes weighing 15-20 lbs (6.8 - 9 kg).
Secret security clearance
- Requirement to travel which may include assignments on short notice and for extended periods. This will include travel via vehicle or by air to communities within the North.
- Requirement to work outside normal working hours which may include working evenings, nights and weekends based on operational needs.
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence. Note: the licence class must, at a minimum, authorize the driver to drive a car, van or small truck, on all roads and highways without an accompanying driver.
