Indeterminate employees at the same group and level may be considered for deployment or may be assessed in the advertised appointment process as the other applicants from other groups and levels. This process is to staff the position of Regional Director, Canadian Wildlife Service, Atlantic Region, and the position of Director, Environmental Emergencies, Environmental Protection Branch, and it could also be used to establish a pool of partially or fully assessed candidates to staff similar positions within the Public Service across Canada at the same group and level on an indeterminate or temporary basis including Acting Assignments.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (for all positions)
EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
EXPERIENCE (For all positions):
Significant experience* in directing policy, programs or regulation development on complex** matters relevant to the organization
Experience in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders such as central agencies, other government departments, non-governmental organizations, or indigenous communities
Experience in briefing senior management (Director General and above) on sensitive and complex** issues
Experience in managing*** human and financial resources
NOTES:
*Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are normally acquired over a period of at least three years.
**Complex refers to at least three (3) of the following characteristics: multi-dimensional; multijurisdictional; confidential; affecting many partners or stakeholders; precedent setting or having a major impact on the public service; having the potential for significant media coverage.
***Managing means having direct authority for people reporting to you and directing an overall team of more than 5 people, and having managed a budget.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Management experience in a regional office
Experience in the management of grants and contributions based programs
Experience in managing the implementation of environmental regulations

Experience in environmental emergencies
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
