Duties

The Department of Justice has implemented a Digital Workspace using SharePoint 2013 and GCDOCS to support the collaboration and information management needs of departmental employees.

Over the coming fiscal year, the Digital Architecture and Innovation team will be focusing its efforts on supporting the existing user-base, expanding the service to new clients, migrating content into the Digital Workspace, and integrating the Digital Workspace with other key corporate applications such as the Department’s Legal Case Management System.

As a Business Analyst you will be primarily responsible for but not limited to the following:

- Meeting with client groups on a regular basis to discuss their Document Management requirements
- Analyze documents and requirements and recommend solutions
- Design solution based on approved guidelines while also taking into account client requirements
- Educate client groups on related departmental policies (e.g. Open by Default)
- Provide coaching/training to client groups
- Provide site presentations to client groups
- Contribute to the development of training and reference material (e.g. how to guides, videos, or reference guides)

The duties of the position(s) to be staffed from this appointment process may be performed in a virtual environment from any Justice Canada office that is identified on the advertisement. Please note that this does not imply telework. Rather, the employee will be expected to perform all duties of the position from one office and report to a manager who is working in another location.

Intent of the process

Anticipatory process. A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions in various locations within the Department of Justice with various tenures (indeterminate, term, casuals, and acting appointments as well as deployments and secondments/assignments, Interchange Canada), various linguistic requirements and various security levels. 3- You must have experience in providing advice or recommendations to stakeholders, such as employees, partners, or clients

5- You must have significant * experience utilizing computer software programs including word processing and spreadsheets to manage and maintain information in order to prepare reports.
6- You must have experience in at least one of the following:
- development of training materials or delivery of training sessions.

Conditions of employment

STEP 4 of the assessment process - SECURITY CLEARANCE

The hiring department is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process. Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must provide residence information for the last five (5) years and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you
must provide residence information for the last ten (10) years.

The process may involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, credit checks (if required) and fingerprints.

Depending on the position to staff the security clearance may vary; Reliability or Secret.
