Intent to fill 1 indeterminate position. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions or for future term, acting, assignment, secondment or indeterminate opportunities.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Recent and significant experience as a Project Manager handling real property projects valued at or above $5 Million.

Recent and significant experience participating in multi-disciplinary project teams of public or private sector resources for the delivery of capital construction projects.

Experience in the development, coordination and evaluation of consulting services contracts and construction contracts.

Experience conducting quality assurance reviews, control monitoring and site inspections throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience in the provision of advice to clients in the realm of construction and renovation of real property assets.

*Recent experience signifies having performed these duties within the last seven (7) years.

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the execution of a diverse range of complex activities that are normally acquired over a period of three (3) years.

Depth and breadth is defined as involving multiple issues, multiple partners/stakeholders and multiple impacts/risks.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Professional accreditation or professional designation in a related field.

Project management designation (e.g.PMP)

Degree equivalency

Recent and significant experience managing a team of personnel involved in the delivery of real property projects.

Experience supervising and directing staff (including conducting performance management reviews, and training/mentoring employees).

Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post- secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Construction administration technology, Engineering, Architectural technology, or any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

Knowledge of the fundamentals of project management such as theories, principles, practices or techniques.

Knowledge of contract management and procurement processes, industry best practice, or methods to procure construction services.

Knowledge of construction methods and materials.

Ability to communicate effectively orally.

Ability to schedule and manage consulting contracts, and construction and goods contracts.

The successful applicant will have to obtain, as a minimum, an RCMP Reliability Status. The candidate must not have a Criminal Record. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.

Successful candidates(s) must meet and maintain the Conditions of Employment throughout their employment.

Assessment for this process will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The cost to attend the assessment will be the candidate's responsibility. If you are currently employed with the Federal Public Service, please let us know your current group and level as well as your tenure and the Department you are working for.

All communication relating to this process, including e-mail correspondence may be used in the assessment of qualifications.

An interview may be administered.

A written exam may be administered.

Appointment decisions may be based on one or more of the following criteria:
-Matching of the individual's experience or qualifications to the strengths and weaknesses of the work team;

-Level/degree of one or more competencies/qualifications.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
