We are actively looking for motivated and energetic engineers and architects with a background in project management who are eager to work in a professional and dynamic organization. As a member of the Real Property Services or Parliamentary Precinct Branch, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project development and delivery and will be supervising the work of teams in the planning, design, construction, commissioning and evaluation of assigned engineering and architectural projects.

The intent of this selection process is to establish a pool of partially or fully qualified candidates that may be used to staff various Project Manager positions at the AR-05 and ENG-04 group and level at Public Services and Procurement Canada in Gatineau, Quebec and Ottawa, Ontario.

EDUCATION:
The minimum education requirement is:
For the AR-05 positions (Project Manager - Architect):
Graduation with a degree* in architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution.
OR
Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in landscape architecture or in urban planning, rural planning, community planning or some other specialty relevant to landscape architect and town planner positions.
For the ENG-04 positions (Project Manager - Engineer)
Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
*Note: A degree is defined as a baccalaureate or higher-level degree as established by educational authorities
EXPERIENCE:
E1. Recent* experience in managing complex** Real Property projects*** from planning to design, construction, and close-out.
E2. Recent* experience in coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
E3. Recent* experience with real property procurement processes and contract management.
Definitions:
*Recent experience is defined as having at least 3 years of experience within the last 5 years.
**Complex projects must include 3 or more of the following characteristics: large number of stakeholders requiring specific governance and communication, significant heritage or sustainability component, multi-disciplinary consulting team, interrelated dependencies with other projects or programs, alternative forms of project delivery methods (excluding design-bid-build), or approvals required from Central Authorities (such as Treasury Board, Board of Directors or equivalent in the private sector).
***Real Property projects is defined as projects in buildings, infrastructure, or engineering assets, and can include new construction or improvements (such as interior fit-up, renovation or remediation).
CERTIFICATION:
Certification related to project management such as Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in providing advice on the interpretation or application of policies, standards, or best practices related to project management or engineering activities.
