Education:

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management, geomatics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note: Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

*Recent and **Significant experience in developing or maintaining Oracle databases in support of ArcGIS v10 or higher applications.

*Recent and **Significant experience in developing or maintaining GIS processing servers or webGIS servers running ArcGIS v10 or higher.

*Recent and **Significant experience in developing or maintaining Oracle PL/SQL scripts.

*Recent and **Significant in developing or maintaining Python scripts using ArcGIS v10 or higher in support of GIS applications or GIS services.

*Recent is defined as an experience having been acquired within the last five (5) years.

**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of approximately three (3) years.

***Application is defined in this context as computer software for use by multiple end-users simultaneously which typically access database(s), has a front-end and is used in a network environment.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of ArcGIS Server v10 or higher.

Knowledge of Oracle Relational Database Management Systems v11g or higher in support of ArcGIS v10 or higher (GeoDatabase).

*Recent experience using or administrating ArcGIS Portal, or ArcGIS Online.
