By working as a Program Officer within the Programs Directorate, you will:
- Accomplish work that allows you to use your organizational and leadership skills.
- Work on the implementation, delivery and support of programs and Agency priorities.
- Promote ACOA's programs and activities to the public and business community.
- Provide professional advice, analysis and recommendations on economic and business development issues.
- Assist in the development and delivery of regional economic development programs.
- Represent ACOA at meetings with various key stakeholders.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts.
- Collaborate with other federal departments, as well as provincial and territorial governments.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or eligibility for membership in a professional accounting association (CGA, CMA, CPA or CA).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Students within one year of obtaining their degree will be considered. You must provide the program and the date of obtaining your degree.
EXPERIENCE:
- In the delivery of various initiatives to a diverse client base.
- In the analysis and evaluation of business or strategic plans or proposals.
- In drafting reports, presentations, strategic documents, recommendations and/or briefing material for management.
- In representing your organization in various fora/committees.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: These qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed to a position.
EDUCATION:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in one of the following: Commerce, Business/Public Administration, Economics, or Accounting.
EXPERIENCE:
- In the delivery of economic development programs and services.
- In providing advice related to commercial lending, accounting or financial analysis.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Security level will be based on the position to be staffed (Reliability or Secret security clearance).
