Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
Working under the Prairie and Northern Region Manager of Accounting Operations the selected candidates will work in accounting operations, compliance, monitoring, and budget management. The duties may include the following tasks:
- Reviewing invoices and entering payment documents into the financial system (SAP);
- Conducting quarterly financial monitoring reviews on various types of transactions;
- Providing policy and procedure advice and guidance to internal clients;
- Prepare and maintain financial signing authority cards;
- Provide budget management and administrative support to the Regional Director of Finance and Administration;
- Assist in year-end financial activities;
- Opportunities to participate on internal committees.

Our immediate work group comprises of the Regional Director of Finance and Administration, two managers, one finance associate, and one administration officer. Our team provides internal financial services to clients from various sectors and directorates located across the Prairies and the North.
The intent of this selection process is to staff temporarily one position for a duration of 6 months with the possibility of extension.
A pool may be created to staff similar positions with various language profiles, durations (including permanent) and security levels.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma
EXPERIENCE
- Recent* experience working in an accounting or internal audit role;
- Recent* experience in providing interpretation, and guidance on financial policies or procedures to clients;
- Recent* experience inputting data into a financial accounting system (e.g. SAP);
- Recent* experience using MS Excel.
*Recent is defined as within the last 3 years
ASSET EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in accounting, business administration, commerce, finance or some other specialty relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience using SAP in the Federal Government.
- Experience working in an accounting or internal audit role in the Federal government.
English essential

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Sections 32, 33, and 34 of the Financial Administration Act.
- Knowledge of the National Joint Council Travel Directive.
