Canadian Heritage plays a vital role in the cultural, civic and economic life of Canadians. Arts, culture and heritage represent $49.9 billion in the Canadian economy and over 630,000 jobs across the country. The Department’s specific responsibilities include formulating and implementing cultural policies and programs related to copyright, foreign investment and broadcasting, as well as policies and programs related to arts, culture, heritage, official languages, sport, state ceremonial and protocol, Canadian symbols, and organizing and promoting public events. The Department’s programs fund cultural industries, community and third-party organizations to enrich cultural experiences, strengthen identity, and promote participation in sport by Canadians. We are a dynamic, energetic and creative team that shares a culture of excellence focused on quality of service and commitment.
We currently have positions to staff in the Gatineau region, however a pool of partially qualified candidates will be established from this selection process and may be used to staff similar positions with different tenures with various linguistic profiles and various security clearances within the Department of Canadian Heritage.

EDUCATION
- Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary educational program in a field related to the position (e.g. Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce).
EXPERIENCES
- Recent* & significant** experience in procurement OR contract management.
- Recent* and significant** experience providing advices and recommendations to clients on procurement process OR contract management.
*“Recent” is defined as experience normally acquired within the last 5 years.
**“Significant” refers to the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of a broad range of related activities which were the candidate’s primary work responsibilities. It will be assessed on the basis of the scope, complexity and the diversity of the work performed.

EDUCATION
- Post-secondary diploma in a field related to the position (e.g. Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce).
EXPERIENCES
- Experience in using an integrated financial system (i.e. SAP, Oracle) or E-procurement systems.
- Experience in interpreting and applying federal government procurement policies and procedures.
- Experience developing procurement strategies.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Be willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
- Be willing and able to travel occasionally.
- Considering the mandate of the department, vacation leave may be limited in periods of high volume.
