As the Service Canada Director responsible for Nunavut, you will supervise employees located in Iqaluit, Cambridge Bay and Rankin Inlet, and deliver outreach services to remote communities across the Territory. You will be responsible for the prudent financial and human resource management of a salary and non-salary budget of $2.4 million dollars. As the Area Director responsible for Nunavut, you will be responsible for leading, implementing and delivering the full range of Service Canada services through channels that include Service Canada centres, kiosks, outreach services and a wide range of partnerships in a professional manner that is responsive to the service access needs of clients, regardless of where they choose to reside in the Territory. Reporting to the Director General of Citizen Services, the Area Director also provides senior level advisory and representational services to the Territorial Government and is a key member of Western Canada and Territories Directors' Council and the Nunavut Federal Table.
The intent of this selection process is to initially staff this position on a temporary basis with a Beneficiary of the NLCA in support of this Agreement. It is anticipated that this position will be filled on a permanent basis at a later date through this process. This process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates for Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) in Iqaluit.

EDUCATION (MANDATORY)

EXPERIENCES (MANDATORY)
Experience in working in a service delivery environment.
Experience in developing relationships with internal and/or external stakeholder communities; or in developing private sector relationships.
Experience in managing financial and human resources.

In support of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement (NLCA), and in accordance with obligation under the ESDC Employment Equity Plan, preference will be given to self-identified Beneficiaries of this Agreement.

ASSESSMENT
Various assessment tools may be used.
This process is being carried out in conjunction with selection process number 2018-CSD-IA-NUN-17994. The same assessment tools will be used. Should you apply on both processes, you will be assessed only once and the assessment results may be applied to both processes. Separate pools of qualified candidates will be established for each process.
REFERENCES
Candidates will be asked to provide contact information of their references at the time of assessment. Please be prepared to provide references, including: two (2) peers, two (2) employees, one (1) previous supervisor and one (1) current supervisor.
