EDUCATION:

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

NOTE: Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES :

Significant** experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams on IM/IT projects.

Significant** experience in providing IM/IT advice and guidance to management (Managers or Directors) or colleagues or clients as a subject matter expert.

Recent* experience contributing to an IT security program.

Recent* experience implementing security on complex, distributed systems on various platforms.

Significant** experience participating in Incident Response initiatives.

*Recent is defined as an experience having been acquired within the last five (5) years

**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of IT Security policies, standards, guidelines, frameworks or processes.

Knowledge of communications/network security practices and controls.

Knowledge of IT Security incident management concepts, practices and processes including prevention, detection, response, and recovery.

Any other certifications applicable to the position.

ASSET/ EXPERIENCES:

Recent* experience in IT Security Architecture and Engineering including security controls.

Recent* experience in writing IT Security policies, procedures, directions and guidelines.

Recent* experience in conducting security awareness training for employees.

Recent* experience in the development of business continuity and recovery plans.

Recent* experience conducting Threat Risk assessments (TRA).

Recent* experience in conducting an IT security audit in two of the following areas: network security, technology infrastructure, software development, Information Management.

Significant** experience gathering and analyzing information from multiple sources to support system solutions development, configuration, testing or maintenance.

Significant** experience delivering IM/IT products or services using defined methodologies and best practices.

*Recent is defined as an experience having been acquired within the last five (5) years.

**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.

ASSET/KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of recent trends in implementation of secured:

- mobile work environment
- cloud computing

Knowledge of security considerations in Application Development.
