Duties

You will undertake quantitative and qualitative research and policy analysis to inform:

• the formulation and implementation of FCAC’s program activities, aimed at empowering Canadian financial consumers and strengthening their financial literacy
• the development of advice and recommendations to policy makers on consumer finance issues
• interdepartmental, intra-governmental and international files related to financial literacy

Work environment

FCAC is a separate agency that offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core federal public service. In addition, you will benefit from a minimum of four (4) weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and be eligible for an annual performance pay. We have our own classification system (RE and REX).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Degree from a recognized university in a field relevant to the position, such as Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Finance or Statistics

Degree equivalency

Recent* experience undertaking research and/or policy analysis in a field relevant to the position (e.g., economic research, social research, statistical analysis, etc.).

Recent* experience presenting research and/or policy analysis results in written analytical reports.

Recent* experience managing processes to ensure successful delivery of corporate objectives.

*Recent is defined as having acquired the experience within the last 3 years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Master’s degree from a recognized university in a field relevant to the position, such as Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Finance or Statistics.

Degree equivalency

Recent* experience evaluating social interventions, programs, and/or policies.

*Recent is defined as having acquired the experience within the last 3 years.

English or French

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of quantitative analysis techniques and tools supporting social research.
