EDUCATION
ED1: A degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Administration Group**.
OR
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
OC1: Eligibility*** for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified General Accountant (CGA).
*Degree: Unless it is otherwise specified (e.g., Master’s degree), the term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
**The experience related to positions in the Financial Administration Group must be related to Financial Management. This experience can be acquired by working in a public accounting firm, or in an accounting/finance team in the private sector, non-for-profit, self-employment, etc. Experience can be from working in financial analysis, auditing, payables or receivables, financial statements, financial forecasting and budgeting, book keeping, tax preparation or other related activities.
***Eligibility can be defined as: the candidate must have completed all the course requirements of the program as well as the work experience required by the profession.
EXPERIENCE
EX1: Significant* experience in analyzing financial information and in preparing reports.
EX2: Experience in providing advice, recommendations and support to key stakeholders (such as managers, colleagues, clients) on complex** financial management matters.
EX3: Significant* experience in at least one (1) area of financial management: accounting operations, corporate accounting, financial policies, internal audit, internal controls, financial systems, or planning and forecasting.
*Significant can be defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of these duties on a regular basis for a minimum period of approximately 2 years.
**Complex financial issues involve different but related parts such as many impacts or elements to consider, large amounts of data, or interdependencies.

EDUCATION

AEX3: Experience in the provision of financial management services such as forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis or reporting.
AEX4: Experience in configuring SAP.
AEX5: Experience working in quality assurance such as internal controls or auditing.
AEX6: Experience using financial management systems such as SAP or Oracle.
AEX7: Experience in supervision of employees in a financial environment.
AEX8: Experience in developing or providing training on financial matters.
AEX9: Experience in using advanced Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables, macros or VLOOKUP’s.
